Read in the Burnley Express last Friday that the Duke Of York is being turned into flats and apartments, the pub has seen some troubled times of late and changed hands on numerous occasions. Lets hope it will be in keeping with the character of the building and that they leave the clock where it is, I remember that clock being there my entire life. It is sad about the change, but it is even sadder to see the decline of the pub and even worse contemplating what some lawless people were turning it into. :x

I used to go there for lunch occasionally when I worked at Duke Bar. I also went to the Snug Cafe at the top of Barden Lane.
