This comes from a book at Burnley Library; unfortunately I do not know the name. Hopefully it will mean something to someone.

Brennand Mill.
The mill named after John Brennand on Brennand Street and Briercliffe Road was built before 1820. The mill was worked by Taylor and Clarkson Ltd., and John Wood and Son, in 1945.

Bridge End Mill.
This is probably the earliest documentation of Bridge End Mill. This is mentioned in a paper in Burnley Reference Library, and states that on May 24th, 1736 “John Halstead of Bridge End in Habergham Eves surrendered to Henry Halstead, his son.

Queensgate Mill (Halstead’s)
Hind Street, Burnley. Worked by Edmund Halstead, in 1923, and right up to 1962, and beyond. The weaving shed part of Queensgate mill was demolished around 1951, and NorWeb took over part of the complex as offices. The walls of the former mill still survive enclosing Dove Court Residential Nursing Home, although the mill itself has been demolished.
The mill dated from 1906.

Rake Head Mill
Bishop street, Burnley. The Rake Head Mill we relate to dates from before 1848, when John Brennand and Brothers were working the mill, and in fact shows up in the first edition map for 1844-48. The mill was up for sale by auction in March 1871, following the voluntary liquidation of John Brennand and was described as follows:
