I woke this morning to the sound of wind and rain on the windows. I'm in heaven. It's one of those things that never fails to put a smile on my face. I think there is nothing nicer (hate that word) than being snug and warm indoors while it's blowing a gale outside.
Lucky I don't need to go far today though!

I like the feeling to Mel, laid in bed listening to it, but what about anybody who is homeless and living outside, I always spare them a thought as well, it must be terrible for them, while we are snug/warm and dry. But yes it is one of my pleasures in life also.

Snug and indoors would be nice in this weather, but some of us have no choice but to experience it first hand at around 6am if we're ever going to get to work on time!

Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but I don't like the Summer when it starts to tail off. And I hate getting up in the dark!

The joys of working from home Stephen! The onyl traffic problems I experience is a jack-knifed dog in the hallway leading to the toy room (office)

In principle, I love the idea of working from home, but I doubt that I really have the discipline for it! Besides, there's also the rent to think of, and any freelancing stuff that I do doesn't really tend to swell the coffers to any great extent!

I thought I would struggle with the discipline but I don't. Hubby is the brains behind the outfit, I do as I am asked. When there is work for me to do, I crack on with it. I've had an unusually busy couple of weeks but no trouble in getting into it. If there is something of interest on TV then I tend to sit at ther dining table with my laptop and work there. Otherwise I'm in the toy room with the radio blaring away.

It's harded to pack up at the end of the day if anything....I'll just do this bit...Just this bit....and this bit and before you know it another hour or even two passes by.

I, too, work from home. I religiously block off time in my daybook for this and that...I find if I do that then it gets done. I have clients booked by appointment, so I start at 10 a.m.. Gives me time to meander out of bed and have two cups of coffee in my jammies before heading for the shower and getting dressed. I book 2 clients in the a.m.....give myself an hour and a half for lunch with hubby....then 2 more clients in the afternoon...the paper work gets done in dribs and drabs....and maybe the next day...but NO pressure from anyone.....no bosses or crabby co-workers! I remember the days of dragging myself out in all kinds of miserable Canadian winters in the dark....and having to spend 20 minutes finding the car under the snow and warming it up so my derriere wouldn't get chilblains.....! This is soooo much better!

Pleasures in life
the simple ones - a cup of coffee, a packet of maltesers and a good book
the more exotic ones - sitting on the balcony of a cruise ship doing my knitting and watching the ocean go by. (Dolphins are a bonus)

Pleasures in life, weather related:

Listening to the rain on my umbrella as I walk along the street; we get very little rain.
The crunching sound of my boots on the snow on a bitterly crisp winter morning.
The first day when the sun actually feels warm on my face after a long, cold, dark winter.

A good book and a glass of wine, anytime.

Joan

So that's where it's come from. I think we've had your share, you can have it back!

Relaxing in France. A little too warm for me but not too much of a problem seeing as I am only sitting in the shade.

Speaking of which, this is an aerial video of our place that Lyndon has taken using a remote control airplane and small digital camera.

Our house can be seen at 1:04 and 1:20 amongst other times in the video.

How clever! your house looks lovely. It is dull here, no sunshine for us, but we have been promised some for tomorrow and Thursday. Have a good time in France, should'nt be short of the vino eh! (hic).

Cool.

That airplane would be perfect for getting our spies in and out of Iran completely undetected.
