Not a magazine I have ever read but Peter, founder of LosCousins and editor of their newsletter mentions it in his latest edition.

He says -
When I was at school in the early 60s one of my friends introduced me to a scurrilous magazine called Private Eye and edited by a young chap called Richard Ingrams. Nearly half a century on, Ingrams is older and perhaps wiser, but still a magazine editor - for The Oldie.

If you like my style of writing then you'll probably enjoy reading The Oldie as much as I do - it's crammed full of writers who you probably thought were dead, though they do allow one or two young whippersnappers to contribute, possibly to comply with the Age Discrimination legislation. My eventual aim is to persuade them that they should have a regular column on family history....

I don't think it's fair to say that it's just for 'Oldies' anyway. I'm a very irregular, but enthusiastic reader of the same periodical.

Or maybe this just means that I am actually getting old? :|

So do you think it is a good read? I've never heard of it before.

A very good read, yeah. Kinda like the non-political bits in the Spectator.

Apparently, I'm also an 'Oldie'!

I reckon I'm not classed as an 'oldie' in this quiz because I dont mend clothes, if owt gets a hole in it I chuck it (wasteful, I know) I have a button tin which has come down through the family, but I dont use em, I like to look at em! I dont save string or wrapping paper (too much clutter), I dont clean my shoes with shoe polish, I have to say ( ) I dont own any shoe polish or shoe brushes. I also have to say that I am letting down my late (female) relatives here, they were real squirrels, they saved everything, supposed they had to though in those days. I'm more minimalist dont like clutter or knick nacks all over the place (dust collectors) so I probably wont have many heirlooms of my own to leave, saying that I have heirlooms left to me what I could not bear to part with but they are kept safely away out of sight as some of them are not to my taste, I have the odd item on show though, also my books....some new, some inherited in bookcases behind glass doors for protection. I think I'm an 'oldie' in my head but I dont put it into practise. :)
