Cold here too, but I'd rather be cold in China than Burnley.
Happy Christmas everyone.
ps If you're still there Kris, are there any good wills to be found in Beijing?

Very best wishes to you all from "we're having a White Christmas" Canada......
as the snowflakes fall gently, and I rush around getting last minute gifts...and my house is twinkling with lights and there's tinsel and wrapping paper all over my dining room table...I will send good vibes towards Harle Syke and look forward to a visit sometime next year.
Happy 2008, y'all!

Merry Christmas Suzycue, you paint a pretty picture of a christmas scene. We seem to get it after you, so maybe it will be snow here on christmas day.

Just googled richards landing. No wonder you get all that snow- out on the lake like that. Think you could spare us some for next Monday/ Tuesday? A white Christmas would be lovely.
Hope you have a great one.

If you want a great map site, much more up to date than Google Earth then try the attached link for Live Search Maps
The birds eye view option is bang up to date, not all regions are available on the Birds Eye option but the Briercliffe area certainly is,and its fantastic.

I would be interested to hear what you all think about it and whether you can get the birds eye view in your area.
Merry Christmas

David

Hi David - found my house. I think I even recognise my car on the drive, but it's two cars ago. Looks like the grass could do with cutting!

The images for my area are quite recent.....judging by the car. Certainly within the last 18 months.

Portia
If you live in the Burnley area then the birds eye images are definitely done this year,I think the aerial ones are not as up to date.
If you look for example at the new medical centre on Briercliffe Road,Harle Syke that is shown and was only completed in the summer of this year. Also look at the new Boundary Mill Store in Colne being built.

What I did not take into consideration of course Portia is that you may well have had two new cars this year

ps And i hope your reference to your grass needing cutting is not a hint,I have my work cut out at the moment with Madame Mel's assignments :P

OK...we in the new world are last again?
I can get a map of Richards Landing....and when I zoom it is just the map....no real street, as in Google Earth.
Dp I just have to be patient until they get to me?...or am I doing something wrong? :?

David, how fantastic do you think my pension is? Two new cars? One possible explanation is that is that it wasn't my car at all - just someone parking there while I was out. Trouble is the resolution isn't that good that I can read the number and find the culprit.
As for the grass, I have to keep something for himself to do, so I leave you entirely at Mel's mercy.
