I've posted this twice but my connection keeps failing and losing it all.

I looked at Daniel again and went back to my original decision that it's the same Daniel. As you say Kris he comes up on every census as a quarryman.

I've found him in 1871 but listed as Laycock. I've lost Ancestry again but the basic details are:

Ann Laycock 44, head, unm, farmer
Alfred Laycock 13, son,
Thomas Laycock 9, son
Daniel Laycock 28, nephew, quarryman, b Briercliffe.

Next door (also in 1861) is John & Sarah Kippax - the same Sarah Kippax as has a nephew, Daniel Leaver, living with her in 1881.

Maureen, I discovered a mistake in our Leaver tree.

James Leaver (1864) and Margaret Jane Heap (1866-1941) are the parents of Rennie Leaver (1890), but we have Rennie Stewart Leaver (1890) as their child. Rennie Stewart Leaver (1890) is actually the child of James Leaver (1860-1929) and Emma Bannister (1862).

1948 – LEVER Rennie of 3 Causeyfoot, Nelson, Lancashire died 1 June 1947 at the Royal Infirmary Blackburn. Administration Lancaster 9 July to Henry Lever, retired company director. Effects £2,353

Thomas Leaver (1777-1845) married Nancy Thornton (?-1812) and they had a son named James Leaver (1798-1865). Thomas Leaver (1777) remarried Sally Whitaker (1782-1860), so that must be Sarah in the 1851 census. Thomas and Nancy had a son named James (1798-1865), and he had a son, Thomas (1824).

Kris, do you have any more on Nancy Thornton? I have a Richard Thornton born c1775 and died 23rd March 185? Lane Bottom. I was wondering if he and Nancy could be brother and sister. Maybe a long shot but you never know. I can come forward from Richard, but no further back, he married a Mary/Mally ? 9th Feb 1796 Haggate.

Hi Gloria, I know that Nancy married Thomas Leaver (1777-1845) at St. Peter’s, 1797, but other than her year of death, I don’t have more information.

Mel, yes, we have discussed this Sutcliffe connection before.

Kris, I have looked on IGI and there are a couple of entries, it says Haggate on one, and Burnley on the other have you seen this, or have you seen the original?
