Shattonblade - you are the biggest Heap researcher I can think of and I have a query. Can you help please?

I have found a Sarah Heap, age 56, widow living
RG9 3069 folio 16 page 26 Cop Row

Do you have any idea what her maiden name might be?
I'm actually researching her Smith boarder but was curious as to whether there might be a distant connection.

My 3-gt-grandmother, Mel.

Her husband Joshua died in 1852.

Her maiden name was EMMOTT/EMMOTT. The marriage in 1822.

She was baptised at Clitheroe in 1804, and I guess born there, despite the information in the 1861 Census. The 1871 Census for example says born Clitheroe. She was the first child of John EMMOTT and Hannah COTTAM, all later ones born in Burnley. I would suspect an earlier Burnley/Briercliffe connection for John EMMOTT, the name 'belongs' there !

She died in 1886.

Rex
