I have a Robert Sutcliffe, son of William Sutcliffe and Sarah (Heap?) born 20 Mar 1815 at Burwaines.

I have all the census for him except 1841. He married in 1842 to Elisabeth Heap (of Holden Clough, Extwistle) at St Peters.

In 1851, he was living
HO107/ 2251 folio 130 page 15, sched. 65
Ridehalgh, Briercliffe
Robert Sutcliffe Head, Marr, 35, farmer 15 acres Briercliffe
Elizabeth Sutcliffe wife,Marr, 32, farmers wife Briercliffe
William Sutcliffe son 7 Briercliffe
Thomas Sutcliffe son 6 Briercliffe
Sarah Sutcliffe dau 3 Briercliffe

This is the 1841 census for his parents

This is a possible 1841 entry for Robert but I am not convinced. This Habergham Eaves Sutcliffe family has absolutely no connection to my Briercliffe lot so far.

There is another Robert Sutcliffe, only 17yrs old though, who is an ag lab in Habergham Eaves

Thanks Gloria. Not sure though. I can't find him in 1851 but I did find Gabriel as a lodger, census says he was born Hab Eaves. No surprise there really.

I have discounted the Robert I found. I found him in 1851 and he was born in Hapton.

Why didn't they put birthplace and relationship on 1841 :cry:
