Probably already known to you all, but Dales geneology.com has census returns for some of the smaller 'hamlets' if you have any kin up there. |

Thanks Hannah. Some of my wife's ancestors are from the dales, and it's a good site. I haven't explored it properly yet, but I was surprised to see that it has information from the 1911 Census. http://www.dalesgenealogy.com/ Charon |

Not seen any 1911 myself but I believe the 1911 census should not be published anywhere for the foreseeable, not until the original release date of 2012? For anyone wanting to view the site, the link is http://www.dalesgenealogy.com/ |

Mel, that's why I was surprised. There is 1911 data at Arkengarthdale and Askrigg, for instance, where there are records of "how long married" which can only be 1911, though I haven't compared them with the "official" site. In fact the first parish on the list that is not stated to have 1911 info is Constable Burton. Charon |
