Can anyone help me to find this family in 1861 please? I've tried everything including first name only (you can imagine how many results that gave!) and surname only.

These are the details I have...

1851
HO107/2260 Folio: 128 Page:48
Busk Branch Road, Oswaldtwistle
FRANKLAND, John Head Married M 43 1808 Labourer In Factory Soaley Yorkshire
FRANKLAND, Betty Wife Married F 43 1808 Church Lancashire
FRANKLAND, Nancy Daughter F 14 1837 Power Loom Weaver Cotton Oswaldtwistle Lancashire
FRANKLAND, John Son M 10 1841 Coal Miner Oswaldtwistle Lancashire
FRANKLAND, William Son M 0 (5 MOS) 1851 Oswaldtwistle Lancashire
GREYSON, James Son M 11 1840 Coal Miner Oswaldtwistle Lancashire
GREYSON, Mary E Daughter F 8 1843 Oswaldtwistle Lancashire
BRADSHAW, Betsy Lodger F 27 1824 Cotton Twist Winder Houghton Lancashire

Betty is Johns second wife, his first wife died in 1845 and he married Betty in 1849. The Greyson children are from Betty's first marriage.

Nancy Frankland married a William Cooper, I have the census for her, but I can find nothing at all for anyone else listed in this 1851 census.

In 1871, John and Betty are living in Habergham Eaves

RG10/4151 Folio:35 Page:17
Stoops Lane Harger Clough, Higher, Habergham Eaves
FRANKLAND, John Head M 67 1804 Yorkshire
FRANKLAND, Betsy Wife F 65 1806 Lancashire

I am beginning to think that the entire household (except Nancy) went overseas and came back again in this 20 year gap.

Hi Mel,

Still can`t find them as yet, but do you have the following?:

Grave: 2945 Burnley Cemetery, Burnley, Lancs.
Burials in this grave:
Name Age Abode Gender Source Register Date buried
1 William Frankling 15yrs Back Lane M Book 1 #5747 22 Nov 1865
2 Elizabeth Frankland 72yrs Accrington Road F Book 3 #18231 7 Mar 1878
3 John Frankleton 73yrs Accrington Road M Book 3 #19529 1 Feb 1879
4 James William Cooper 5mnths Cog Lane M Book 5 #32231 5 Oct 1887
5 Arthur Cooper 1yr Cog Lane M Book 5 #35612 13 Aug 1889
6 Amy Cooper 9mnths Cog Lane F Book 7 #45813 20 Mar 1895

They are obviously well mistranscribed in the 1861 census  but should be around there somewhere.

Mo

Thanks Mo, yes that's them. There is still a gravestone, it was a huge help when first discovered. I am actually looking for this family for a fellow researcher (& 2ndish cousin). He feels quite sure that they didn't go overseas. We think they would have reached Habergham Eaves by 1861 as they were never far from Nancy.
I also looked to see if they were listed as Greyson....no. I searched on William only and trawled through 62 pages of results....no! I assume they all still live together seeing as none of them can be found

Thanks again for looking

Watsons, Hapton
COOPER, William Head Married M 29 1832 Coal Miner Darwen Lancashire
COOPER, Nancy Wife Married F 23 1838 Blackburn Lancashire
COOPER, Sarah A Daughter F 5 1856 Hapton Lancashire
COOPER, John E Son M 2 1859 Hapton Lancashire
COOPER, Elizabeth Daughter F 0 (6M) 1861 Hapton Lancashire

This is Nancy in 1861....not sure if it helps!

Hi Mel,

Beamed up by Aliens I think!! Do you know where Nancy was living when she married William Cooper? Holy Trinity were pretty good at naming streets as opposed to "of Habergham Eaves". I have manually gone through Back Lane where William died in 1865 but they not there as far as I can see.
