I've found Batty Wife Hole in the 1871 cencus. The reference is RG10/4252.

You can use John Moody aged 38 to find it.

Hi and welcome to the madhouse.
I checked out the census you found. Unfortunately the one you found is Batty Wife's Hole in Yorkshire. The one we couldn't find is Batty Hole in Briercliffe. Having trawled through the entire 1871 census for Briercliffe, I've come to the conclusion that it's there, but not specifically identified.

We went to look at Batty Hole and Ingham House many years ago when they were for sale. Batty Hole, I am pretty sure did not have as much land as Ingham House. I think the house lived in by Bannister Nutter is Batty Hole, and the one lived in by Thomas Walton is Ingham House. I thought there was only one other farm down there and that is now HAPPA, but they may have included the one on the now Shay Lane. Never the less they had much more land on the census than Batty Hole.
