Is the book about Haggate Baptist by Rex Watson still available from him?
Does anyone know?

Glenys

Give me your address direct on the site or via e-mail if you prefer, and I'll send it. I've sent one or two others abroad, and the postage (air mail)is about £1 or a bit more, I think. So £4 is near enough. British stamps if you can get hold of them is a cheap way. My other 'Commonwelth' sales have sent a cheque drawn on a UK bank, which doesn't cost me any charge, but will have cost them I guess !

Rex, please excuse my slow response. I will send the money order over and enclose an envelope for return. When I bought a Certificate recently from England I sent over some post stamps that can be used internationally ...forget what they are called :-) but will enclose those too.
Thankyou for your patience,

Glenys

I think there is mention of the quote in another thread Spacer. I think it was a quote from a book or poem, I may be confusing it with something else though.

This lovely quote is from Fair and Tender Ladies, by Lee Smith, an American writer. I emailed Glenys to ask about it. It's in the public library system here and I'm halfway through it. The novel takes the form of letters written by Ivy Rowe, the main character, from the time she was a child and through her life. It's set in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia beginning around 1900. This very brief description doesn't do it justice.
