My copy arrived today so I have yet to read this book but the mix or murder, the Black Country and East Lancashire is really appealing to me. It seems an intriguing combination of all I enjoy in my spare time. Priced at £8.99, it is available direct from Barrowford Press http://www.barrowfordpress.co.uk/ or locally (to you not me!) from Badger Books, Pendle Heritage Centre, Witches Galore (Newchurch-in-Pendle) or The Book Shop in Colne. |

"A true story of life, love and murder in victorian Lancashire" It says on the back it was published in November 2008. Neither did I Gloria. I just happened to have a nosey on John's site at the weekend as I do every now and then and spotted it. It was delivered yesterday. Quick service! |

Of course. I was going to have a read last night but I was shattered after the drive to Heathrow and back and the hanging around waiting at the airport. Will probably start it tonight if we don't go out. |

This book is based on the following news article. Liverpool Mercury Tuesday, March 2, 1897 The Barrowfield Shooting Case Frederick Nowell, who, it is alleged, shot his wife and cousin at Barrowfield, near Nelson, Lancashire, on Friday night is still at large. Both women are in a most dangerous condition. A photograph of the cousin's head and hand has been taken with the Rontgen? rays to ascertain the position of the bullets. |

I did. I enjoyed it. Bit like Mist over Pendle with having the interest in the locality. I'll try to remember to pop it in the car the next time I see you. |
