This is taken from a message on LFHHS yahoo forum-------

I have accidentally come across a link to an on-line book entitled 'History of the Parish of Chipping in the County of Lancaster with some accounts of the Forests of Bleasdale and Bowland' - by Thomas Charles Smith, first published in 1894.
This may be of interest for anyone with ancestors from the Chipping area. However the link to the book is about 4ft long (much like the title!) - so if you go to the Lancs Archeological Society Website instead www.lancsarchsoc.org.uk you will find a quick link to it half way down the home page, under the title 'History of Chipping'. There are links on that site to one or two other interesting websites also.

On Amazon that particular book is £18.04.
