Spotted this book on ebay:

"WALKS IN A LANCASHIRE TOWNSHIP

No. 1 - THE VILLAGES OF BRIERCLIFFE

ROGER FROST & MALCOLM HIGGIN

This rare book is full of interesting stories on the mills, buildings, and places in the old cotton weaving mill villages and hamlets of Harle Syke, Haggate, and Lane Bottom.

Fully illustrated.

PAGES: 40.

SIZE: 145 x 210mm deep.

CONDITION: New.

Does anyone know anything about it? I assume it's "our" Roger Frost?

It is 'our' Roger and I don't think it is so rare.
I'd give Roger a call and see if he has any before you bid. I have it on a list of publications I received from them some time ago. I've not made the list public as I want confirmation of what is available and current prices. This book, if Roger has any, will cost you less than is shown on ebay.
I bought this book a couple of years ago and I think it was this that sparked my interest in the Society and their lack of a website.

I'll try to give Roger a call this afternoon to see if he is home and if he has any.

This is a small pamphlet type book. I have seen it in Burnley library. It consists of several short walks around Briercliife. I don't remember it having much historical content.

I think you are right Pollyanna. I found it interestng because I think it gives descriptions of some of the places passed en route.

Couldn't get through to Roger, I'll give it another go later/tomorrow.

Found my copy. It is an interesting little booklet. I'll have another read of it later.
Portia, you are welcome to borrow my copy.

Mel, it might be an idea to get Roger to bring some of his unsold books/pamphlets to the meetings, I am sure a few of us would be glad to part with some money.

I'll suggest it when I speak to him.
I might give John a call if I can't get hold of Roger in a day or two.

David - you...at a meeting...on a Wednesday. Thought that was your boys night out.

Roger still has a few copies of this book and they are a lot cheaper than quoted on ebay. Anyone requiring a copy can contact Roger direct. If you don't have his number/address, PM me and I'll reply with details.

Apparently there were 2 editions of this book. An updated version was produced a few years ago that sold out quite quickly. I'm not sure if the ebay book is this new edition or the original one. Rogers stock is of the original edition.

I pit the suggestion to Roger that he take publications to a meeting with him. He says that he is low on stock on most things but that there are 2 or 3 new publications due in the coming months.
