Yes saw that Stephanie.I walked past Bank,s Farm at the weekend and up by the river to Batty Hole. They have made a really nice job of converting Bank,s.

If you're a HIRST descendant who came from Briercliffe, then you must read the Roger Frost article "Buildings-tell-a-common-story" (see above - in Burnleymasher)

The article describes conditions at Banks in the past.

Why must you read this article? Because the Hirsts were just one of the poor handloom weaver families who lived there in the depressed 1830s and 1840s.

From these austere beginings some emigrated to America and Australia and some stayed at home to write this.

(From the Census: in 1841, 5 families (28 people) lived at Banks.)
