THEY'LL 'EV T' LAST LAUGH
A team frae up t'Syke, losing thirty-five nowt,
it must be misprint were what ah first thowt,
a score like that, seemed to me, such a pity,
they must ha'bin playing agin United or City.
These Sykers are just childer to some of the teams,
and that result to th'Owd Syker's noorn as bad as it seems,
they'll not win ony medals, at least not this year,
but they'll come back, doorn't yo worry, they allus do froe up theer.
Briercliffe Rovers, The Albion, Haggate and Hill Lane,
we laked for 'em all, and wished could do again,
and if these kids show t' same spirit, and I'm shure 'at they will,
ther's some teams'll be sorry they ever went up that hill.
