Hi

I am helping a guy from with the above families. I am particularly looking for SARAH SAGAR b 7/8/1898 in burnley, she married GEORGE LEONARD TEGERDINE b 5/1/1895 Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, they were married 1924. They had a child JOHN TEGERDINE b 1926 d 1937.

JOHN TEGERDINE had a brother ARTHUR W b 18/2/1892, he married MARGARET ELLEN HOLGATE b 2/8/1895 and they were married 1917 Elim Methodist church, Briercliffe Rd. Arthur and Margaret had 2 children MARGARET b 1919, she married LEONARD AIREY, and DOROTHY b 1920, she married HARRY BUCKLEY.

does anyone out there have any of these names in their treess/research. The man in question (who I am trying to help) has traced the TEGERDINE side of the family back some 350 years and he is now hoping to trace the Sagars. To say that I have done extensive research on the Sagar (my family line) I cannot find SARAH who married George Tegerdine. If I can't find anyone out there with any info I will suggest that her start sending for certs (but as we all know this gets vewry expensive)

Hoping someone has heard of the Tegerdines/Sagar lines

Sue x

Hi Sue,
this is all I can find in the 1901 census, she is down as neice and is living on Brunshaw Rd

Name Age
William Sagar 55
Alice Sagar 53
William Sagar 25
Alice Sagar 24
Harriet Sagar 24
Maggie Sagar 21
Arthur Sagar 18
Sarah Sagar 2

The marriage cert would give the name of the father, which would then make the Sagars easier to trace back.

If you haven't got the marriage details, it was in the June qtr 1924, Burnley, volume 8e, page 401.
