Does anyone have any knowledge of any orchestras that may have been around in Burnley in the early part of the 20th century. Possibly the 1920's !!! However, not sure !
Photographs depicting any orchestra in Burnley would be wonderful.

There was the Briercliffe Brass Band 1915 http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Pho ... 20Band.htm
My gt grandad played in it he is on the second row back on the right. He also played for Irwell Springs which was based in Bacup.

Thank you so much for replying.
I don't think it would have been a brass band , and maybe the date would have been in the 1920's. However, I am grasping at straws!! My father played the violin so I think it may have been an orchestra. However, I am no expert.
I appreciate your help and the photograph of the brass band is brilliant!
