Post subject:  Date of a death

If anyone has access to BMD, I would be greatful l if they could have look for a relative who appears to have died in the mid 60's.

The name would be Margaret Pennington and address would be Garsdale Ave , Reedley.

I seem to have had a complete memory lapse about this one :( OK I know it's an age thing but if I can prove to myself I was elsewhere at the time it will explain the gap in my memory bank. :( Thanks

Hi Hannah, the bmd info doesn't give address. Looking for Margaret Pennington between 1950 and 1970 reveals no result for Burnley/Pendle - the district I'd expect it to be under.

:| Thanks Mel, never mind, I did a big clear out in the attic and found phot'os and it was a case of. oh that's???er, um. the face looks familiar but

which lot is she related to. At least I managed to remember her husband was called John and he lectured at Burnley college in the 30's, but I am doomed to wondering who the lady is  , love this family history sometimes!!!

Hi Hannah,

Reedley came under Nelson Registration District at that time. There are the following deaths all registered Nelson:

Margaret Pennington born 9th June, 1891 died December Qtr.1972 Volume 10e page 1368

Maggie Pennington aged 72 December Qtr 1965 Volume 10e page 553.

or there is a Florence M Pennington in December Qtr 1964 aged 76.

Mo

:D Oh Mo, you have saved me yet again, yes she was always called Maggie but I assumed it was Margaret ( when will I learn)?

This fits together now, I was at college so I can close that chapter.

I had better ignore the old photo's in future as I burrow through the stuff in the attic, I didn't realise so much time had gone by or that I clearly was not paying a lot of attention

Thanks so much.
