Post subject: | Haggate Chapel Cemetery Records |
Good afternoon Does any member have records of burial plots in the Haggate Chapel cemetery? I believe that my grand parents Ada and Herbert Robertshaw are/were buried there. Ada died in 1938 and Herbert in 1942. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be visiting the UK in August 2017 and would like to view the graves if possible. I understand that the Chapel itself has been demolished. Thanks very much Malcolm Robertshaw Kaiapoi New Zealand |

Hi Malcolm, if you contact Burnley library with the info you have about when they died (http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries- ... brary.aspx) they should be able to check the burial records for you to confirm if they are buried there. The chapel has been demolished, there are photographs of the demolition http://briercliffesociety.co.uk/Photo%2 ... lition.htm but also photographs from when it was standing http://briercliffesociety.co.uk/Photo%2 ... t%20Chapel It is possible that the chapel may be able to provide you with details - I'm not sure but their details can be found on this site http://www.haggatebaptistchurch.org.uk/welcome.htm Good luck, let us know how you get on. |
