Each day I log in and click on 'new posts since last log in'. Usually there are 5 or 6. As I am nosey and want to read everything, I click on the first, read it and click back to the new post list. I click on the next one...etc. Before get half way through the list I get the message that I cannot look at any more and I cannot click back to the list again.
Is this fixable, Mel? I would like to go through the complete list, rather than go to the forum, sort through all the topics to find the latest date and then click through that category for my tid-bits.
I will, if you insist, though.

I'm afraid Sue that I have no idea. It's not a function I have used personally.
Is anyone else experencing a problem with this?
The only thing I can suggest is to right-click on the topic you wish to view and 'open in a new window'. This should keep the list open and accessable.

There is an upgrade to the forum software which I plan to do soon but I need someone to go through the procedure with me as it's something I haven't done before and I don't know what to expect. I don't want to 'break' the site. The upgrade might just fix this problem.

I've had the same frustration as Sue with new posts. The way I work round it is to go back to the talkback index after each new message and look for the yellow bells to pick the next one - a bit more long-winded but it seems to work. At least I think it does - I've sort of come to it by trial and error and without really thinking about it!

of course, my method can only work if you have *not* clicked on "view posts since last visit" because that extinguishes the yellow bells.

I do the same as Charon and just look for the yellow bells, no probs that way.

I also look for the yellow bells. They seem to stay during a viewing session regardless of how much you navigate around the forum.

You do seem to lose them though if you close your window before you have looked at all of the yellow bells.

Thanks all. Will try the yellow bells route. That makes 'postings since last log in' somewhat redundant...but whatever works is fine by me.
