Glenys, can I take you up on the offer please? I think I am on to something good!

At least two of my Catlow family members moved to New Zealand in the 19th century, and I am looking for any descendants. The first was William Catlow (1834-1910) http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/paf ... 4.htm#1666 and the other was John Thomas Catlow (1870-1963) http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/paf ... 5.htm#1592

The two articles below are for a Burnley (Catlow) woman that I am unfamiliar with, but I think she might be Sarah Jane Binns (1874) who married Albert Catlow (1874). Albert Catlow (of Burnley) was the younger Brother of John Thomas Catlow (1870-1963) and the nephew of William Catlow (1834-1910). This is just a hunch but the New Zealand Sarah Jane Catlow died at age 68 in 1941 and there is also an Albert Catlow who died at age 69 in 1943, so everything fits. I am wondering if it is possible to find Sarah Jane Catlow's grave, or some other information to confirm a connection to the Albert that I found in the NZ death.

WHO'S WHO CANDIDATES FOR CITY COUNCIL
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

In order to give electors assistance in the matter of identifying City Council candidates The Post has prepared brief biographical notes. With forty-two candidates in the field there are bound to be some who, though capable men, are not known to the public. Electors would be well advised to study this "Who's Who" and decide before they go to the polling-booth which candidates shall receive their votes. The name are arranged in alphabetical order.

Sarah Jane Catlow (Labour) was for several years a member of the Social-Democratic Party in Burnley, Lancashire, before leaving for New Zealand fifteen years ago. Since her arrival she has been associated with every effort made to secure Labour representation on public bodies. As vice-president of the Rentpayers' Association she has actively engaged in the housing agitation of the past few years. She is now secretary of the Housewives Union.

Are you following this topic Glenys? Is the offer still open?
If so, I have just discovered a Walter, Edith & Leonard Whitehead who went to NZ in 1909. I'll gather what I have and send you a PM in the hope that you may be able to point me in a direction

Nothing that exciting Sue. My Whiteheads are from South Stafforshire and it seems like they always have been despite it being such a popular surname in Lancashire. This is a son of a 3 or 4x gt uncle who I couldn't find a death or 1911 census for. Just trying to complete a paper trail for the names in my file. :D
