John Dacey left co. Mayo in Ireland in abt. 1860 and moved to Newcastle, Staffordshire via. Manchester. The (my) Dacey family seem to have stayed within Staffordshire. It is not the most popular of names within the area though it is more common across England and Wales.

John was born on the 'night of the big winds', this being the 5th/6th January 1839. I cannot, yet, pinpoint where in Co. Mayo he originates though.
