Any body related to or know anything about a family last known at 18 Jubilee St in 1900. It would be John and Margaret, but I believe the family of John had been in Briercliffe for at least two generations going back and were all tailors. thanks, Hannah |

Hi Gloria, I know they were tailors and I suppose I wondered if there were any people decendents from the family still living around the area. They seemed quite 'well to do' I found a ref. to Jon Banks having some sort of connection to one of the mills and he is described as 'living off his own means' in about 1900 how do you achieve that? |

I've had that with people "up syke" and thought maybe they were shop owners or part mill owners, but a lot of the time it says that. Could be they were elderly and not living on the parish, thereby living off their own means-----just a thought. |
