Saturday June 21 1788

Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded and issued forth against John Hartley, of Dole House, within the Forest of Pendle and County Palatine of Lancaster, Dealer and Chapman, and he being declared a Bankrupt is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners in the said Commission named, or the major Part of them, on the 27th Day of June, at Four o'Clock in the Afternoon, on the 28th Day of the same Month, at Ten o'Clock in the Forenoon, at the House of Mrs. Catharine Hargreaves, the Red Lion, in Colne, in the said County of Lancaster, and on the 5th Day of August next, at Ten o'Clock in the Forenoon, at the House of Mr. Kew, the White Hart, in Lancaster, in the same County, and make a full Discovery and Disclosure of his Estate and Effects; when and where the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, and at the Second Sitting to chose Assignees, and at the last Sitting the said Bankrupt is to attent to or dissent from the Allowance of his Certificate. All Persons indebted to the said Bankrupt, or that have any of his effects, are not to pay or deliver the same except to Mr. John Hargreaves, of Wheatley, near Colne, Wooldraper; whom the Commissioners have appointed Provisional Assignee; but give Notice to Mr. William Shaw, Attorney, in New-inn, London, or to Mr. John Shaw, Attorney, in Burnley, in the County of Lancaster. -This Advertisement ought to have been inserted in the Gazette of Saturday the 14th Day of June instant, but was then mislaid by us, and we had it not in our Power to obtain a fresh Advertisement sooner than for the present Gazette.
