I recently purchased a postcard of Hollingrove, Briercliffe and the card was written by Hannah of Shay Lane Farm, Briercliffe (posted, 11 August, 1910).

Does anyone have relatives living at this address during this period?

I didn’t know you could do this, but the 1911 census allows you to do an address search. Anyhow, I searched for Shay Lane Farm, Briercliffe and the Wormwell family is living there, but there is no Hannah.

A branch of my Dent family was living there until 1901: Mary, widow, 73, and her unmarried son and her daughter, Esther Ann. They left probably soon after then, but I don't know who took over the farm.

Perhaps Hannah was a Wormwell, but she wasn’t home on census day. I will look for the Wormwell’s in 1901.
