Oh! I used to live near Woollitt Hall, don't remember it, but it turns out it was a stones throw from my first primary school. Now that's brought back some memories :D

Wonder what the writer of the postcard meant when they said, 'your time is short now', is it an old fashioned saying for someone whom is pregnant do you think.

That was what Roger was implying. I spoke to him on the phone last week and he was telling me he had used my card (I put it with some of his by mistake) and would return it to me at the end of the month. He told me he didn't actually say it was a place for unmarried mums but that he suspects it might have been.
