Post subject:  Whitefield Infant School and Lomeshaye Junior School

Hello,
I am trying to research the history of these schools. So far I have gathered that Lomeshaye school was built by the Ecroyd family for the children of the mill workers. Does anyone know if they built the Infant School as well, or whether the infants and juniors were one school and later split? Any information about the Ecroyd family and their influence on local education would be very helpful, as well as books/sources I could use in my research on the surrounding area of the old Ecroyd mill and Whitefield/Lomeshaye school.

Might be worth contacting Nelson Library they may be able to point you in the right direction.
