Post subject:  Slang, accent or dialect ?

The following lie I think somewhere in the borderland between dialect and accent. They show the way we used to speak (Burnley, 1950s) and no doubt the way people speak there today.

In response to, for example, 'Is the key in the usual place ?' : Tintintin.

There is a lovely collection of 50 of these in the compendium of Lancs and Yorks talk made by Joan Pomfret in the 70s, 'Twixt thee and me'. These 50 were originally published by the Burnley Express.
