I guess it is as in 'it suits me', which of course isn't dialect. The dialect use though is stronger, with a distinct element of pleasure ! Rex |

I have found a job in the house which I think I can 'fettle' myself? Also I feel in fine 'fettle' ???????? Any translation available |

I'm not sure of it's origins but 'fettle' was a job in the potbanks here in Stoke. A 'fettler' removed the rough edges or seams before the item was fired in the kiln. |
