One gt-grandfather (who had his clogging business) made a will, none of the others. Common enough I'm sure in the period say 1890 to 1930 odd, for working class men.

I have an administration bond for one other gt-grandfather, 1912.

What is an administration bond?

Is it the same as executor of a will?

Is it a Letter of Administration, because he didn't leave a will? Not sure if it's the same in this time period, but I have a copy of one from my ancestor Joshua Nutter from 1833.

I have another from 1868 from one of my Ashton-under-Lyne ancestors.
