My paternal grandparents were Martha (nee Hirst), born Sept 11 1872; died February 27 1946, and John Robert Halstead, born April 2 1870.
Martha was the daughter of Betty (nee Proctor), born March 9 1840; died July 9 1911, and Edmund Hirst.
Martha had 4 sisters and 1 brother:
Sarah Jane Hirst...b July 15 1862
Jane Hirst....bJuly 23 1866
Mary Ann Hirst...b July 24 1868
James Laurence Hirst...b September 6 1874
Ada Hirst...b May 18 1877
They lived at 123 Burnley Road, Briercliffe.
John Robert Halstead's parents were Robert and Ellen (nee Proctor) of Abel Street, Burnley and
1 Nelson Road, Haggate..a grocer/butcher shop..(photo in the archives with Robert Halstead standing outside). John robert had a number of siblings...but I'm not there yet!
So...have I now just found a new gaggle of cousins??
