Does anyone know why some of the graves have been fenced off? I made it a few feet into the area last weekend, but long grass prevented me from delving any further. I presume that lists of transcripts of these difficult to reach graves have been made somewhere or other, though? Any ideas where...?

It was fenced off about the time of the demolition of the chapel due to the area being so unsafe. The ground is very uneven because there are so many sunken graves.
I went there when the Chapel was still standing and did venture into the lower/older section. I know someone who went in during winter last year and managed to get some gravestone pictures, most of which are on the main website.

The MI's were recorded and I think they are held at either the Lancashire Record Office at Preston or Burnley Library (or both?). Someone sent some of them to me. Kippax can be seen here viewtopic.php?f=17&t=329

If the reference starts with 'L', the graves are at Hill Lane Chapel. I think 'F' and 'G' are in the old section at Haggate that is now fenced off.

The burial registers can be found at Burnley library and possibly also the LRO.

There
