I'm looking for some baptisms around 1800 - 1820ish. The family lived in Barrowford.

Baptisms did not take place at St Bartholomews or Colne Particular Baptist although the father of the family was himself baptised at Colne Particular Baptist Chapel.

Can anyone say where else should I be looking please? I'm hoping to make a trip to Colne to look for these records in a week or two.

Mel have you tried looking on here www.lfhhs-pendleandburnley.org.uk/church/xcol1.htm they have an index of churches in and around Colne.

Is it! Damn.....was all fired up to!

What do you think are the chances of Preston having anything? I think it's Non-conformist that I will want.

Website says closed until January 2010.

Looks like it will have to be Preston!

Who are you looking for Mel.

A lot of the Non Conformists used The Inghamite Churches at Salterforth and Winewall.

Is that a possibility ?

Thanks Ormers.

I'm waiting for some, hopefully new, info from my co-researcher and partner in crime who is based up there. He hasn't been researching for a while but seems to be back into it so once I have received his mail (it's at the sorting office waiting for me to collect) and digested it, I will run my ideas past him and see if he can chase up any leads.

Winewall sounds like a good possibility for what I am interested in, I know there were Sutcliffes using the Chapel. I think I have the MI's here. Perhaps take a look when pup dozes.

Winewall Inghamite Chapel opened in 1752 and Salterforth Inghamite Chapel in 1753.
I've never thought of looking there.
Preston Records Office have

Winewall (under Trawden)
c1753-1837 microfilm
d to 1978 microfische

Salterforth Baptist Chapel (under Barnoldswick)
c1753-1837, b1756-1837 microfische and transcript.

Looks like yet another trip to Preston for some of my elusive ancestors.
