It is / was, down near Pighole and Pighole Mill, nearer to Nelson. It is on the map in Roger's book, but cannot see it in the Lanc's street atlas, so possibly it is not there now. It shows it in the photo archive under maps http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/ima ... ge_901.jpg

Think it has been spelt in all sorts of ways in the past.
1851 census Rodger is Robinson's father, and they were living in Catlow.
Name Age
Ann Shackelton 16
Ellen Shackelton 20
Grace Shackelton 49 ****
James Shackelton 6
Jane Shackelton 12
Joseph Shackelton 2
Robinson Shackelton 18 ****
Rodger Shackelton 44 ****
Rodger Shackelton 14
William Shackelton 8

Gloria,, yes Roger was Robinson's Father.

I think i found Sarah's family but have no proof it is definitely them. The dates and place are good though:

They were on the 1851:

Betty Greenwood b abt 1802 Marsden Lancs Head Widow

Janathan (Jonathan?) Greenwood b abt 1824 Marsden Lancs Son

Sarah Greenwood b abt 1832 Marsden Lancs Daughter

I think the address is Pinfould

On the 1841 there is a Henry Greenwood 20yrs so presumably by 1851 he was gone.
