Post subject:  Innkeeper in Haggate in 1820s

I'm following a Halstead line in Briercliffe and Burnley and I have a John Halstead (1783-1836) who is listed as an Innkeeper in Haggate, Briercliffe on his children's baptism certificates from 1817 onwards.

Looking at what information I can find, it looks like the Hare and Hounds was the only Inn in Haggate at that time, as it seems the Sun came a little later.

Am I right in assuming that?

Also, does anyone have any idea how I could possibly confirm that...

Also I'm trying to work out his parents.
In 1784 Betty Halstead baptized her "base son" John, which I thought was a definite possibility.

Does anyone share this line or can offer any suggestions?
