I've received a query by email from Darrell Gowers.

He says

Hello, I used to live in Harle Syke as boy but left in 1976 moving south. I had a weekend job on a milkround with local milkman Frank Heap who lived in Walverden Rd, Lane Bottom and we would collect milk from, I think, the farm belonging to Fred Kippax. I believ Frank Heap passed away a few years ago now but if any of your members could enlighten me I'd be most grateful. I lived at number 2 Kimberley Street, Harle Syke. Thank you.

With regard to Frank Heap I knew him very well and have just spoken to his niece and she says Frank died on July 6th 2002 .
Hope this will be of help.

Thank you very much for replying. I knew Frank had passed away but didn't know when. Quite sad as the last time I saw him was in the Summer of 2001. Although I moved south in 1976 I kept in touch with Frank. If you would be kind enough to pass this on to Frank's niece I'd be very grateful. Perhaps I may be able to trouble them for a photo. Thank you again. Regards, Darrell Gowers

Received an email from David re: this post. He says

I have spoken to a couple of locals and Frank Heap used to own Grove Farm om Robin House Lane. When he dold the farm he moved to Walverden Lane and became a milk man. He bought his milk off Kippax.
