We have received the following query - can anyone help please?

On my mothers birth certificate it says that her parents were living at 31 Berkeley Street Brierfield. This area now seems to have been demolished. Do you have any photos of the street from the early 1900s. Mother was born in 1925.

Hi, I think that your hunt for Berkeley St will probably prove fruitless.

My GT. aunt married a man ( surname Leathley) who's family lived on there and I have spent weeks, months and probably longer checking

records for a picture of the street to send on to her grandchildren.

There doesn't seem to be any records left after a fire in Brierfield library many years ago.

:( That's the way our family hunting seems to go'

It led to Briefield Mill and that's about all I have uncovered.

Good luck Hannah
