While transcribing the burials at St James , Briercliffe, I can across the following entry with a note at the bottom of the page that I thought worthy of a mention here. It may be of use to someone. *Elizabeth Bancroft of Burnley Lane Head buried 4 Jan 1862 aged 55. *This should have been registered Elizabeth Wilkinson, her marriage with Joseph Bancroft, her deceased sister's husband bot being valid.
