Hi

I am looking for any info on JOHN THOMAS BRIERCLIFFE who married MARY ANN HILL in 1889. JOHN, I believe, was born @ 1867. I am confused as to who his parents were. Any help would be great :lol:

There is a site for the Briercliffe name http://burwains.ning.com
I'm not sure why but it does now ask for you to sign up/in before you can view anything. I don't think it did when I added it as a link.

According to the 1881 census, (RG11; Piece: 4152; Folio: 4; Page: 2)
John thomas Briercliffe (b Burnley 1867) was the son of William Briercliffe, a baker born 1839 in Burnley. RG11; Piece: 4152; Folio: 4; Page: 2;
William's wife was Elizabeth, b 1838. This would appear to be their marriage (from Lancashire bmd)
1858
BRIERCLIFFE William married PATE Elizabeth at Burnley Register Office or Registrar Attended. Records at Preston RM/12/198.
Hope this helps

Hi Sue, Happy New Year.

It might be worth having a look at http://burwains.ning.com/

I believe that Mike Briercliffe, the founder of that site, has done a lot of research into the Briercliffe name. Please give this site a mention if you visit/register. We placed reciprocal links a while back and it's always nice to know where a new visitor discovered a site.
