GOLDEN WEDDING
On Tuesday Mr and Mrs John Halstead, two well –known and respected individuals, celebrated 50 years of married life, when they gave a party to their three sons, son’s wives and grandchildren.
Their ages are 75 and 71 respectively. Mr Halstead has been connected with the old Haggate Joint Stock Co. almost from its formation in 1856. For a large number of years he was a regular attendant “On ‘change” at Manchester. Mrs Halstead is perhaps best known and respected amongst the members of the Haggate Baptist Chapel, being one of the oldest members.
