I'm like that Gloria, I like confirmation. If it is a hunch then I tend to add 'not confirmed' in my notes and plan to re-visit the person/family to try and confirm it at a later date.
I long for the days when all parish records are online somewhere. Sometimes, driving the 80 (or so) miles to sit in the library is not convenient. I'd love to be able to do it more.

No more library for me until mid-June and even then I think I'll be pushing my luck a little :(

Do you know if Preston has the records for St Andrews in Burnley? I was a bit miffed when I got to Burnley last week and found that they don't have them.

Don't know for sure Mel, but if they have I can have a look for you when I next go---don't know when that will be though.

Just been reading through this again, and the notes I did------nowhere can I see that I looked for the marriage of William Parker and Ann Whitehead at Worsthorne. I know the daughter Mary Whitehead or Parker was christened there, so surely I would have looked for the marriage there------am I REALLY going senile????

I haven't looked there have I? I looked for Daniel's christening but not for the marriage of William and Ann/Nancy. I have just double checked my scribblings and I always put where I searched, what for, and the years. No mention of that search

Perhaps worth a look anyway...just to be sure?

None of the churches in Worsthorne district were there in 1777 when Mary Whitehead/Parker was christened----it says "of Worsthorne" she was christened at St Peters Burnley. So no wonder I hadn't looked there.
Don't you dare say a word Mel.

Post subject:  Parker of Extwistle 13C onwards, Kenyon and Whitaker

I was looking at my Bannisters and noticed that Charles, born at Park Hill late in the 1500s, married Ellen Parker of Extwistle about 1605. The IGI record named the submitter and when I googled her and Banister it came up with a link to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... andjroots/ This is a large site which takes the Parkers back to the 13th century and forward to the present - there are also quantities of Kenyons and Whitakers, but I haven't looked at them.

Hope this isn't old news - and that the link works!

Charon, the link certainly worked and I don't think I have seen this before. I may be gone some time whilst I have a furtle
