Can any of you Parker researchers connect your tree to Butch Cassidy (real name Robert Leroy Parker)? Although Robert was an American outlaw, his Grandfather, also named Robert, was a Burnley textile worker. http://archive.thisislancashire.co.uk/1 ... 03538.html http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/WWcassidy.htm |

I'm pretty sure his grandmother is in St James' graveyard. We had a discussion about this when we were at the Roggerham. The Parkers of Briercliffe and Extwistle are, I am sure connected, not sure it has been proven though. |

Yes he did, he always goes to the meetings with his nephew. Did you have a fruitful visit to Yorkshire? |

I might have mentioned this before, then again.... I have an Elizabeth Parker, born in 1845 (according to census ages). She was the daughter of Ann (Nancy) Parker and possibly Thomas Sutcliffe. They married in 1849. Elizabeth is with Thomas and Nancy on the 1851 and 1861 census but then not the 1871. I assume she has married. This is the 51 & 61 1851 HO107/2251 folio 131 & 132 pg 17 & 18 Yeomans Thomas Sutcliffe, Head, M, 32, Lab stone quarry b.Briercliffe Nancy, wife, M, 32, housework, b.Briercliffe Elizabeth Parker dau 6 scholar b.Briercliffe Sarah Sutcliffe, dau 1, b.Briercliffe 1861 Rg9 3073 folio 102 pg 15 Holt Hill Thomas Sutcliffe Head M 42 quarryman, b.Briercliffe Nancy Wife M 44 b.Briercliffe Elizabeth Parker dau 16 Weaver b.Briercliffe Sarah Sutcliffe dau 11 weaver b.Briercliffe Mary dau 4 b.Briercliffe Does anyone know if she was the daughter of Thomas Sutcliffe or who she may have married? |

There's an Elizabeth Parker married a William Crowther in 1867 - Lancashire bmd. Elizabeth Crowther, born Briercliffe 1845, first appears on the 1871 census. so this may well be her. Statement of the obvious, but the marriage cert might show Thomas Sutcliffe's name if he was her father. |

Ben spoke to him for quite a while at Roggerham, and once or twice since. He found him very interesting Not Mr Sutcliffe that he spoke to (no ouija board involved) but Mr Parker. As Gloria rightly points out, I got this in the wrong place. Call it old-timer's disease. |

13. Thomas Sutcliffe (William ) was born on 13 Nov 1817 in Yeomans, Briercliffe. He was christened on 24 Jun 1819 in St Peter, Burnley. He died before 1881. Thomas married Ann Parker daughter of Daniel Parker and Mary Nuttall on 17 May 1849 in St James, Burnley, Lancs. Ann was born in 1818 in Holt Hill, Briercliffe. She died in 1906. Mel, I have just read the above in your family tree, do you have any more on Daniel Parker? We have probably been down this route before. |

We have and I sent you the paperwork I had on Daniel Parker. I don't think it was confirmed. It was given to me by another Sutcliffe researcher from Aus. |
