I am researching my Mum's family from the Burnley area and have had NO connections through Ancestry. I can't believe that they had no descendants. I am interested in John Nutter and his parents Edmund and Ellen Nutter of Bent Head farm, sometimes shown as Haggate in the census, but also shown as Brierfield. John Nutter, my great grandfather, married Mary Ann Berry. Their daughter Elizabeth Berry Nutter married Albert Ellis and they gave birth to my Mum, Mary Ellis, born in Nelson. I have seen Mel's picture of Edmund & Ellen's grave on the site. I would like to know if his wife Ellen was formerly Riley. Any info. about this family would be welcome.

More details so you can send for the cert. Edmund's first name has the inner letters missing, so maybe that is how it was missed.

Thank you for the tips, folks. I have just sent for the cert. from the GRO so will soon see if they are the right ones. Meanwhile I still hope to connect with some descendants.
