My name is Pauline , maiden name is Nutter. My father was John (Jack) Grandfather Peter who married Sarah Spencer in 1927 according to the regsiter of BMD's. Dads brother was James born in 1925 but the birth wasnt registered until the December quarter of 1934; again as par register of BMD's. Born in Burnley. Lived at Fence and Sabden as a young man
Anyone know of them or know anything??

Hi Pauline, welcome to the forum.
How odd that your Uncle wasn't registered for almost 10 years! I believe it was against the law not to do it within a specified period but I don't remember what that time limit was. Maybe there was an amendment made to his certificate?

Thanks for the welcome, I think its a bit odd as well but thats the info I got off the BMD register, there was a handwritten note at the bottom of the page referring me to a later entry.

Think 6 weeks is the legal requirement for registration.
