Could you advise whether Lindred Lane top,Hey Head, Hollins Bank still exist in what used to be Little Marsden but now is Nelson.
You helped me back in 2009 and mentioned Haggate cemetery.

We are going to Preston R O on Tues next week so if there is anything really urgent needed by any members we can look it up for you.

We are then staying in Red Lane Colne and meeting up the next day with a "cousin" we discovered descended from Martha Whalley and Henry Broughton marriage in 1863. Our interest is Henry Whalley (Martha's brother )who married Mgt Howarth in 1863 at Bethseda Chapel. This Henry's parents were Henry whalley and Elizabeth Hudson ,this Henrys parents were Henry Whalley and Grace Brooks (m 1800 )who remarried John Baldwin a grocer .
We would like to visit the graves in Haggate and take photos of the above named roads where these ancestors lived. So need to know where Haggate is.

Is there a map of the area available anywhere?

We are also going to the Pendle Heritage Centre will we find a map there?
I have now traced back to William Whalley of Briercliffe b 1680 marrying Elizabeth Eckroyd in 1705 at the Society of Friends Quaker Marsden meeting House does this still exist?
Sorry for queries but we are only staying one night and time is precious to visit all these places and take photos even if they are now busy roads.Thank you

For maps (and old maps), go crazy here - www.old-maps.co.uk

search for 'Burnley' and then move East and a bit North 'til you get to Haggate.

Hi, thanks for the offer. Very kind of you particularly when your visit will be brief.

You could ask at the Heritage Centre for a map, not sure if they do them there. Might be an idea to print off from google maps just in case you don't manage to get one. The Heritage Centre is a nice stop for a bit of lunch. Lovely food and pleasant surroundings.

Enjoy your trip, hope you find all you are looking for.

Part of Lindred Lane is still there, it runs down off Colne Rd down to the roundabout with B&Q near the M65 junction just before Nelson. It can be seen on multimap Jt 12 off the M65.
