 Post subject: Lasseycall - location

Could anyone help me please with the above location. It is recorded in the Haggate Chapel records for a number of Foulds I am researching, (sometimes with slightly varying spelling), but I am unclear as to where it was/is. Many thanks in advance for any help you can give with this.

The area around Cop Row. The Burnley Tithe map or rather Apportionment (1842 I think) has it as a field name nearby. Call/caul/cawl is an old word for sheepfold. Lacy a local name of course, may go back to the De Lacies, lords of the manor way back.

Cop Row built about 1819.
