I am trying to find anything relating to a weaving mill on Old Hall Street, I know that my Grandad, James Henry Tatham (son of Margaret Pickles and John Tatham) owned. When I ask my Dad what years he had the mill, he says that he brought all his children up on it. Dad is 89 now and his memory comes and goes, so he cant tell me too much. Dad was born in 1919 and he remembers being taken there by his Dad. James Henry married Margaret Pickles in 1900, so it is after then up until about 1930 I reckon. I have looked in Roger Frosts book but it does'nt tell me anything.

Has anyone got any suggestions of where I can look :?: Stephanie.

I have found a Hartley Tatham & Co who had North Bridge Mill,Elm Street Burnley with 125 looms. Elm Street is adjacent to Old Hall Street.
This information is from the Cotton Spinners and Manufacturers Directory of 1891 Lancashire.

Hope this is of help.

Bush Street, Stephanie, where Hartley died is the right sort of area for the mill,it is very close to Elm Street/Old Hall Street. Is that the area where your family came from??

Thank you so much David, Hartley Tatham was my Great Great Grandad, John his son was Grandads father, I never knew the mill went that far back, I only ever knew that Grandad had it. Your help has been much appreciated. :D :D :D
