Liverpool Passenger lists, where can I find these?

Hi, Ward Stanworth was born in Burnley, 1865 and it seems that both his parents died sometime in the 1870's. Ward was sent to live in Ontario, Canada, 1877 (departing from Liverpool, I think). I have found a number of documents that relate to Ward, including 1871 England census, 1901, 1911 Canadian census, marriage / death cert from Canada, and a US immigration (New York) list from 1904 which says Ward passed through NY in 1877. I can find no mention of Ward in the 1881 / 1891 census or the original passenger list from 1877.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a list of passengers that left Liverpool in 1877?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Some info on Ward Stanworth can be seen here.

Try the Mormon website FamilySearch, looking in the Family History Library Catalogue (FHLC)

I'm not sure though the lists you hope to find exist : arrivals in USA are well documented, and so also I think are the Mormons' own records of departures, but this would not be such I guess.

I went through similar searching many years ago in connection with my own Mormon ancestry, I can dig out that research if need be, though it might take some time (I'm away for a fortnight soon).

Hi, the Merseyside Maritime Museum in Liverpool is a useful site. They don't have passenger lists but they have a collection of shipping records and their Information Leaflet 13 has information about emigration to USA and Canada.

I think Leaver was hoping that there might be some free lists available. Isn't it frustrating that that so many sites charge for access to records.
Leaver is away at the moment.
